Hand tufting is by far the quickest technique to produce rugs and carpets by hand and is used both for contemporary and classic patterns. Hand tufted carpets can be customized in terms of color combination, texture, shape and dimension to suit any requirements. Only quality dyes from Switzerland are used for the dyeing procedures. This quality is suitable to create both loose Rugs and wall to wall carpets for private residences, star hotels, VIP rooms.
Luxury hand tufted carpets and rugs are made by punching strands of wool, silk or other yarns into a canvas on a frame using a hand electric tool which looks very much like a hand drill. The canvas is stretched on a large frame where the design is drawn onto the canvas using the images from the design generated on a computer.
Our hand tufted carpets can be produced in several qualities with different pile weights and heights: HT-450, HT-550, HT-650, HT-750. The materials which are mostly used are:
- New Zealand wool which is widely known to be the best wool quality for rugs and carpets due to its specific properties. The wool from New Zealand is coarse and therefore extremely hard-wearing. It is the whitest in the world making it the best for dyeing and highly colorfast. It is also high in natural lanolin which improves its stain resistance and durability.
- Natural silk has been used in rugs and carpets throughout history. It has a beautiful and luxurious feel and provides a richness of color. It is hypoallergenic and, despite to popular belief, very hard-wearing and easy to care for.
- Bamboo Silk offers all the qualities of silk at a more competitive price. It is well known for its natural properties and looks and feels like natural silk, making it a more preferable alternative to other synthetic fibers.
